The Remains of the Dame – Thatcher’s Legacy in Cartoons…

My first published political cartoon was on the subject of the resignation of Margaret Thatcher as Prime Minister, for my then University newspaper, the Warwick Boar, back in November 1990. Unfortunately, this cartoon has disappeared from my archives – to be honest, this is a bit of a relief, as it Wasn’t Very Good. Since then, however, I’ve drawn the Iron Lady on a number of occasions, so I thought I’d share a few of these with you.

Dr Sketchy’s Catch-up No. 1 – Gender Bender September

05 - Liberty PinkAs promised, here’s the first of my Dr Sketchy’s updates with the event from September of last year. Billed as Gender Bender September, this was to be a rather different Dr Sketchy’s at the Victoria – or should that be the Victor Victoria. Ambiguity abounded – men were dressed as women, women were dressed as men… or was it the other way around? Catching up…

ZzzzzKeen observers of my website (both of you) will have noticed I’ve not been updating this blog particularly frequently recently. This has been in part due to work being a bit busier than usual as my other venture, drawnalism (a joint project with fellow cartoonist Matt ‘Hack’ Buck), goes from strength to strength; partly due to my recent wedding to the lovely Maria (read all about her new business over at mazzawoo.com); but mostly due me being a bit feckless.
