Eggheads beaten!

As I’m in not doubt you’re now aware, the Cartoonists team, captained by yours truly swept to victory in our recent TV quiz bout, smashing the Eggheads with what Kevin Ashman described as “the most comprehensive defeat we’ve ever had”!

As mentioned previously I recently (er, back in January) recorded an episode of the TV quiz Eggheads. Well, tonight’s the night! Tune in at 6pm on BBC2 tonight to see me captain the Cartoonists team of Robert Duncan, Graham Fowell, Royston Robertson and Martin Rowson to victory/defeat*

Eggheads update…

As I may have alluded to in another post earlier this year, in February I participated in an episode of the BBC quiz Eggheads, as captain of the Cartoonists team. Well, we’ve finally been given a broadcast date – Tuesday 13th October. That’s right, only three months away… and of course, I still can’t tell you how we did.

Erm, looks like the BBC have been tinkering with their schedules again…. and we don’t have a broadcast date after all. More news when I know it.

Looks like we have a new (provisional) date for broadcast, so Remember, remember the Fifth of November.

10 Years of Learning to Draw

It occured to me the other day that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the publication of my book Learn to Draw Caricatures (which is still available and was recently reissued with a new cover). Around the time it came out, I did a couple of interviews in the local media. In January of 1999, shortly after the book was published I appeared on the Central TV arts programme called Premieré, which was a nerve-racking experience. Looking back now, it’s clear I’ve the perfect face for radio (but sadly, not the voice), although that sunset was lovely.

…and secondly, in July of the same year I was profiled in the Birmingham Post, for a double page spread in the Post Style section. Less scary than the TV interview, but that full-page photo shocked me when I saw it!
