Bus Accident at the Custard Factory

Following on from the train derailment the other week it appears that the Custard Factory is becoming a bit of a Bermuda Triangle for public transport. Coming into work today, I saw the aftermath of this single-decker bus colliding with a row of raillings outside the Old Crown, just round the corner from the Factory.

Whoa! There’s been a derailment on the approach to Moor Street Birmingham, on the viaduct by the Custard Factory. As you can see from these pics, a freight train has tipped over and smashed the wall of the viaduct right by the offices… Read the rest of this entry…

New Street… Old Problem

Another local story – this week it was announced that New Street Station was to (finally) get the funding from central government to go ahead with it’s redevelopment. Sadly, the scheme, whilst delivering a shiny new station with more space for passengers, won’t add any more room for the already over-capacity rail network using the station.
