Card-i-cature a week… Week 37 – Brendan Barber (the Five of Hearts)

A slightly delayed week 37, and as it was the week of the TUC Conference I give you General Secretary Brendan Barber, who failed in his attempt to put pressure on keynote speaker Gordon Brown to raise pay for public sector workers.
This week it’s South African President Thabo Mbeki, who this week shocked AIDS/HIV campaigners across the world by sacking his Deputy Health Minister, Nozizwe Madlala-Routledge. Madala-Routledge was responsible for the large-scale roll-out of antiretrovirals across South Africa, a scheme opposed by both Mbeki and her superior, Health Minister Manto Tshabalala-Msimang, who favoured, amongst other things [...]
Week 18, and it’s time for another card. This time it’s Lord Browne, the (now former) head of BP, who resigned this week following lying to court over a homosexual relationship (and subsquently allegations of misuse of BP funds), as revealed in the Mail on Sunday.
