101 Uses for a George Bush

Posted In: News and views

Aussie cartoonists Jon Kudelka has set up an interesting project – a blog (and hopefully a book too) entitled 101 Uses for a George Bush, in which he has invited cartoonists from across the globe to submit their ideas for what to do with Dubya once he finally leaves office next year. There’s a few up already, the most recent being mine:

Crimson Skye (Fox in woodland)

Dr Sketchy’s Anti-Art School

Crimson Skye (Fox in woodland), digital tablet

Phew! I’ve just got back from school… kinda. This afternoon I attended Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School (warning – MySpace page) in an upstairs room at the Victoria pub here in Brum (as blogged by Graphiquillan). For those not in the know, Dr. Sketchy’s is a burlesque life-drawing class, originally founded in New York in 2005 as an attempt to take life-drawing out of the classroom and make it, well, sexy. So for three hours, with a pint of cider in one hand and drawing implements in the other we drew scantily clad ladies in corsets, suspenders and tassles. Each model started out with a burlesque performance, followed by a couple of short poses or so. Prizes were awarded to the best drawings on the night (as judged by the model herself). The theme for the evening was Dr Doodle-a-little, and all the models wore animal-themed costumes – first up was Crimson Skye (fox), followed by Cherry Fox (pink leopard) and Emerald Ace (octopus), and for each we were given a theme (woodland, jungle and under the sea respectively). This was followed by a second set from Crimson Skye (with a wolf theme…) and finally Cherry Fox and Emerald Ace posing together. All in all, a fun evening’s entertainment.
